Get started!

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef

2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh garlic

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter

1 (8-ounce) package (2 cups) sliced fresh mushrooms

1 medium (1 cup) thinly sliced red onion

4 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Swiss Cheese

Lettuce leaves, if desired

4 hamburger buns, split

 *Substitute ground turkey.

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Heat gas grill to medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.

  2. STEP 2

Combine ground beef, garlic, onion powder, salt and pepper in bowl; mix lightly. Shape ground beef mixture into four (4-inch) patties. Refrigerate 15 minutes.

  3. STEP 3

Melt butter in 10-inch skillet over medium heat until sizzling; add mushrooms and onions. Cook, stirring often, until mushrooms and onions are golden brown. Set aside; keep warm.

  4. STEP 4

Place patties onto grill. Grill, turning once, 12-18 minutes or until internal temperature reaches at least 160⁰F or meat is no longer pink in center. Top each burger with 1 slice cheese; remove from grill.

  5. STEP 5

Place lettuce leaf, if desired, onto bottom half of buns. Top with burgers, mushroom mixture and top half of buns.
